TheCytoCaptureS40-15productsaredesignedforcell-basedassaysandhighresolutionlifecellimagingofadherentcellswiththeintentiontocontrolmorphology,localizationand3Dconformationofthecells.Auniformarrayofsquaretypepolymercavitieslaysontopofthecoverglassbottomsofthesespecializedcellcultureandimagingconsumables.Individualcavitieshaveadistancefromsurroundingwalltowallof40μm.Thewallthicknessis5μm.Heightofthewallsis15μm.Thewallsofthecavitieserrectstraightuprightfromthebottom(F-shape).Seededcellssedimentspontaneouslyinsidethemicrocavities.Thegeometryofthecavitiesallowslargercells(diameter20-30μm)toenter.Withinthesecavitiesthecellsusethesidewallsasguidanceforadherenceandcellorientationinthreedimensions.Themicrocavitiesallowthatindividualcellscanbetrackedoverdayswithoutchangeoftheirposition.Ifseveralcellsenteramicrocavity(afterseedingorproliferation)intensivecell-contactsinthreedimensionalconfigurationareestablishedandcanbeinvestigated.Thetechnologyenableshighresolutionandintratcellularmicroscopyofadherentandnonadherentcellsinlifecellexperimentsandafterfixationandstaining.
