Diethanolamine (DEA) is an organic chemical compound having a secondary amine and a dialcohol. It mainly acts as a weak base. DEA can be used in preparing long-chain fatty acids, namely diethanolamides and diethanolamine salts which have its application in liquid laundry and dishwashing detergents, cosmetics, shampoos, hair conditioners, textile processing, and also in pharmaceutical industries.
