Norbuprenorphine is the primary active metabolite of the opiate buprenorphine in urine. This internal standard is suitable for quantitation of norbuprenorphine levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis. Buprenorphine, sold under trade names such as Buprenex®, Subutex® and Suboxone®, is an opiate drug used to treat opioid addiction and moderate to acute pain.
