Preparation Note
This PT sample is packaged as a 1.5 g concentrate.
This ampule contains one or more Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) as an Aroclor mixture in transformer oil.
The PT sample is not preserved.
Sample preparation
To prepare solution, weigh a clean, dry 100mL volumetric flask to the nearest 0.1mg.
Open ampule PE1275-2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer approximately 1g of the material to the volumetric flask; reweigh the flask to the nearest 0.1mg and calculate the weight difference.
Fill the volumetric flask to volume (100 mL) with pesticide-grade hexane and mix well.
Transfer the remainder of the material from PE1275-2ML to a PTFE-lined screw-cap vial and store for future use.
All analytes are reported in mg/kg of oil. Do not report diluted concentration. The result should be reported as the oil concentration not diluted concentration.
If you need to report for Aroclor 1016/1242, please report this under Aroclor 1242.
